The girls are off to a great start to their short but intense season in the world of competitive NBIAA volleyball. They are a tight cohesive group who are learning and improving at a rate that would make any coach sit up and take notice. They are winning games and serving notice (see what we did there?) that we are here.
Coach Bailey is so proud of them and has a few philosophies she shares with her team on a regular basis. See below:
A coach is not defined by how many championships they win. As a coach I am defined by the culture I create with my team. My goal is to create a culture of trust through my actions and my words, a culture of respect by instilling belief in all my players and a culture of integrity by demonstrating that on and off the court. Many championships will be won or lost and over time forgotten, but showing athletes how to trust, how to respect and how to have integrity will always be remembered. That is my goal for this team. I set a high standard, and I will accept nothing less from my players. We represent Saint Mary’s Academy. I have faith that in this we will have success if nothing else. Go Eagles!
