June 7 was a big day at Saint Mary’s Academy. Our second annual Multicultural Fair was a huge success with close to 400 in attendance. The colours, the music, the food, the costumes, the artifacts, the food, the fun, the displays, the food, the flags. Did I mention the food? Over 25 countries represented! Our First Nations students out did themselves! You could visit the gymnasium and tour the world.

Visitors were issued a passport upon arrival. Every booth (aka country) visited stamped your passport IF you could answer a question about their project after listening to their presentation. Stamps translated into tickets in a draw for multiple prizes. So your mind was expanded PLUS you could win a prize. That’s a double bonus!

A huge thank you to the parents who cooked and decorated with their students. You guys rock. Special mention to Karen Power (SWIS) from Ville de Edmundston for all her help and a huge round of applause goes to the non-profit organization “Communauté Francophone Accueillante Haut-Saint-Jean” who donated money to cover the cost of supplies and prizes! We thank you for your continued and generous support!
